Soorat al-Hafd is: “Allaahumma iyyaaka na’budu wa laka nusalli wa nasjudu, wa ilayka nas’aa wa nahfud. “Soorat al-Khal ‘” is “Allaahumma inna nasta’eenuka wa nastaghfiruka wa nuthni’ alayka al-khayra kullahu wa nashkuruka wa laa nakfuruka wa nakhla’u wa natruku man yafjuruka (O Allah, verily, we ask for Your help and your forgiveness praise You greatly, we give you thanks and we do not doubt you and we abandon and run away from those who do not believe in you. There is a sahih report of Ameer al-Mu’mineen ‘Umar ibn al-Khattaab (may Allah be pleased with him) that he recited in his qunoot soorat al-khal’ and soorat al-hafd in the Fajr prayer, and that this qunoot can be called as-sooratayn.
